Bald Eagle – Christmas Tree Topper

Kari and I had some running we needed to do today, but it came with a caveat. I told her that I wanted to make a few stops during our travels. Those stops of course were my usual photo stops around Webster and Irondequoit. We started out down at the bay and I have to say it was really quiet. There wasn’t much to get excited about, just a few gulls and Kingfisher that flew off shortly after I spotted it. So, we headed over to Rubino’s Italian Food Market.

After Rubino’s we were off to our next stop via the Irondequoit Bay Outlet Bridge. On the way, I saw an eagle hanging out in a tree off to the side of the road. I found a parking area a little farther down the road and pulled over. I started to walk back toward where I saw the eagle and before I could get the camera focused the eagle flew off toward me. I watched to see if it was going to land and was surprised that it actually flew to a pine tree much closer to me.
