Taughannock Falls – “A Humbling Experience”

This is Taughannock Falls.  Which by the way, at 215′, is the tallest single drop waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. Yes, it is taller than the more famous Niagara Falls.

When I got to Taughannock Park, I went up to the overlook. I took a couple of photos up there, but I always wanted to shoot from the base of the falls. I did not know how to get down there. I heard a guy talking, and I thought I heard him say he grew up in the area. I asked him if he could tell me how to get down there and he was gracious enough to give me the directions I needed. Anyway, with camera, camera bag and tripod in tow, I made my way to the base of the falls. It was a completely different experience from looking at it from the overlook. Both views are spectacular, but the view from the base was incredible. You actually get a perspective of just how grand the falls are. For me it was a humbling experience and a wonderful end to my Fall Falls Adventure.
